Team Amerika Samoa’s 7th and 8th graders were pitted up against Vegas Strong on Wednesday afternoon in the first game of the 4th Annual Junior Prep Sports Paradise Classic.

Amerika Samoa struggled from the start of the game throwing an interception that was returned for a touch down in the very first offensive series of the contest.

From there, Amerika Samoa was only able to convert three 1st downs the entire game and went scoreless throughout.

One bright spot for our youngsters was Metuliki Tupou, who caught two interceptions against Vegas Strong.

Final Score: Vegas Strong 46, Amerika Samoa 0

It should also be noted that Vegas Strong’s average height was 5’8”; the median height for Amerika Samoa was 5’5”, which put our team at a physical disadvantage.

Amerika Samoa will play a consolation game on Friday afternoon.

Meanwhile, today the JPS Seniors will face off against Northern California.

Amerika Samoa has only ever beaten NorCal once back in 2016.

That game kicks off at 3 pm and is presented by Hawaiian Airlines and sponsored by Field Fresh Milk, McConnell Dowell, Purse Seine Samoa and Cost U Less.
