A prayer service to offer thanksgiving for the good health of Governor Lolo Moliga and his safe return to the territory will be held at 9 this morning at the Faga’alu congregational Christian Church of American Samoa in Faga’alu.
Lt. Governor Lemanu Peleti Mauga informed directors in a memo sent out earlier this week that it is most fitting and appropriate that we take to our knees and raise our voices in prayer thanking God for the purity of His love, His perpetual goodness and his never ending love for all of us especially restoring our Governor’s health and his continued gift of life so Governor Lolo Moliga can finish God’s plan for him to complete.
Governor Lolo and First Lady Cynthia Malala Moliga returned home on Tuesday night.
In the Senate on Wednesday Senator Satele Galu Satele asked the senate President Gaoteote Palaie if the Fono had been notified about the prayer service. He said if the prayer service is to offer thanksgiving for the governor’s improved health, the Fono should also join. He asked the Senate President if the Fono had been informed about the service.
Gaoteote said he traveled home with the governor on Tuesday night and there was no need for an official invitation for the Fono to attend.
He said, “If we know there’s a prayer service for the governor we should all be there instead of waiting to be invited.”
On the first day of the Fono’s second regular session on Monday, Senator Satele had called for a written report to be provided to the Senate concerning the governor’s health.
He said that the public has been asking questions about the governor’s health and their requests are being ignored.
Satele later told KHJ News that the Fono needs to ascertain if the governor is medically and physically fit to continue in his chief executive position.
