The National Marine Sanctuary of American Samoa has some exciting events lined up for August.
Today from 9:00am to 11:00am is a live Ship to Shore interaction with the crew on board the EV Nautilus, which is on a deep sea exploration in waters of the National Marine Sanctuary of American Samoa.
It’s your chance to meet the scientists and learn about the expedition with news of new species discoveries!
Tomorrow is Vet Into Your Sanctuary at the Veterans Center in Tafuna from 9.00 AM – 11.00 AM.
Take a dive with their team through a Virtual Reality Experience of sanctuary sites and view some of their films to highlight the importance of these special places to discover and celebrate! A trivia challenge winner will earn a free t-shirt!
Then Saturday, August 3, 2019 it’s Get Into Aunu’u Sanctuary – A Day Excursion on the island from 8:30 AM -1.00 PM.
On Aunu’u you have the choice of joining a hiking tour or visit the food festival featuring delicacies special to Aunuu, ,learn how to weave and/or take some pics to remember your experience in the onsite photo station.
A completed scavenger hunt during the hiking tour will earn you a free t-shirt.
And on Monday, August 5, 2019 – it’s Seniors in your Sanctuary at TAOA from 9.00 AM – 11.00 AM.
Seniors will have a Virtual Reality Experience of sanctuary sites and watch films highlighting their importance.
