The Haleck Family looks set to open a new resort, the Samoa Premier Suites and Bungalows Resort in Falelatai, before the end of the year.

The $20 million resort is situated on more than 200 acres of pristine freehold beachland property which was the location of two Survivor Samoa series .

The Samoa Observer reports that Asi Galumalemana Avamua Dave Haleck purchased the land in 2009 and is confident it has what it takes to atrtact visitors.

“We are two miles away from the village, so the property is very secluded, private with nice white sandy beach,” he said.

And he is equally confident with the support from Falelatai village for the family venture.

“Falelatai village supports us because of potential employment. So stand by, the [resort] is a beautiful site and I am eager to expose it to Samoa and the outside world,” he said.

He said they are already on the hunt for staff and will go off island if he cannot source employees in Samoa.

The resort is looking to hire 30-40 people.

“We are currently looking for qualified locals to fill the different
positions in the resort, from General Manager, chef, housekeeping etc. If not then we will have to start looking overseas.”

The Haleck family owns Tradewinds Hotel, Islands Choice , Haleck Motors and other businesses here and in Samoa.

“We see Samoa as a very strong tourist destination,” said Avamua.

“We want to package Samoa Premier Suites & Bungalows together with Tradewinds for our tourists from the United States, and also our other tourists New Zealand and Australia, which may include air fares”.
