Last week we reported that the Department of Health had confiscated 27 cases of Samoa Nonu Delights on suspicion that they were labeled as being made in American Samoa when they were actually imported from Samoan then relabeled here.
In an update, the Environmental health Services Division reports that the local store which was selling this falsely labeled products, O&O Enterprises, was served a letter to return the items back to the original supplier or dispose of them within 7 days.
Yesterday, the company disposed of the 27 cases of Samoa Nonu Delights at the Futiga Landfill.
Representatives from the Weights and Measures Division of Treasury, Michael Pereira and Stockhit Allen, along with John Fuimaono, Head of the Environmental Health Services Division, DOH, and Field Supervisor Samuelu Ulu.,were present at the Futiga landfill to make sure all the items were destroyed.
