It has been a busy week for Miss American Samoa Epifania Petelo and contestants of the 2019 Miss Pacific Islands Pageant in Port Moresby.
And in a few hours the 12 contestants will step onto the stage for the final event, the pageant itself.
The categories are sarong, traditional wear, talent and interview.
One of the first public events of the competition, the float parade was held yesterday and Miss American Samoa had an enthusiastic group of young people supporting her.

Dressed in full traditional wear of fine mat and tuiga, Miss American Samoa performed the siva while her float weaved its way through the parade route.
On Wednesday , the first judge portion of the pageant, the pre-pageant interview was held.
Reports from Papua New Guinea say that Epifania confidently presented on the topic of politics and was articulate in answering questions from the judging panel.
Some of the events that the contestants have participated in are the first ever National Health Environmental Symposium., a visit to Parliament House , a tour of the Maternity Ward of the Port Moresby General Hospital, and several luncheons and cocktail parties.
The pageant starts at 7 pm PNG time which is 10 pm our time. The contest is streamed live on the Miss Pacific Islands Face Book page.
