Tomorrow, February 8th, the team of Gaoteote Palaie Tofau and Faiivae Alex Godinet will announce their candidacy for governor and lt. governor respectively.
Families, friends and supporters of the two candidates have been invited to a gathering at the Fano guesthouse in Fagaalu beginning at 9am.
The chairman of the Campaign Committee for the Gaoteote Faiivae team is High Talking Chief Malaepule Fuega Moliga, who is currently Director of Administrative Services.
Malaepule is also the brother of Governor Lolo Moliga.
The families of the candidates came together last year at a gathering at the Bowling Alley where they made known their intentions to run for the top two offices of the executive branch.
Gaoteote is currently Senate President and Faiivae is the current senator for Fofo County.
Other teams that have announced are Senator Nuanuaolefeagaiga Saoluaga Nua and Tapumanaia Galu Satele Jr and the team of Iaulualo Talia Faafetai and Tapaau Dr. Dan Aga.
It is already public knowledge that Lt Governor Lemanu Sialega Peleti Mauga and Attorney General Talauega Eleasalo Ale will also be in the November gubernatorial race.
KHJ News understands that they will make an official announcement Saturday of next week.
