A Samoa Airways Twin Otter aircraft is now parked at Pago Pago International Airport to be used for flights to Manu’a during Samoa’s two week border shutdown.
Two airline pilots will remain in the territory to operate the flights.
The Chairman of the ASG Coronavirus Task Force Iulogologo Joseph Pereira says the aircraft will first be taking care of passengers who had paid fares before the coronavirus flight disruptions.
The Manu’a charter flights will start tomorrow, Thursday and will follow the usual flight schedule for flights to Ta’u and flights to Ofu.
Travelers to Manu’a will pay for their own fares which wll be collected by the government.
The cost to park the plane here is $4,000.
The cost of charters to Manu’a is $3,000.
Flights to Ta’u will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday and to Ofu on Tuesday and Thursday .
Saturday flights will be based on demand.
For this week there will be one flight to Ta’u and one to Ofu.
