Samoa Police have stepped up their search for escaped convict Pati Chong Nee, who has been on the run since January 19 last year, with an armed raid in the early hours of yesterday.
This was confirmed by Police Commissioner Fuiavailili Egon Keil in a live online interview with Talamua Media following the raid.
He said the raid had targeted Chong Nee and another man alleged to have threatened Police by firing a firearm in front of them the day before.
He added that Police were acting on intelligence received that Chong Nee was still in the area.
And while Chong Nee is still at large, Si’ueva Sai Lupe of Tapatapao was arrested during the raid for aiding and harboring the notorious escaped convict.
Si’ueva also had in his possession five firearms which Police confiscated.
