Five female students have been expelled from a Catholic high school, Channel College, Moamoa allegedly for bullying.

Samoa Observer reports that Principal Father Sipiliano Fakaosi confirmed the expulsions after video footage of the incident went viral on social media.

He said that according to the students involved, the incident happened last week.

“There is no room for bullies in Chanel College,” he said.

The principal said the female victim has not returned to school since the incident.

Fr Sipiliano is saddened by the abrupt end to the students’ education with  exams not far away, as the students involved are intelligent.

But he was firm that bullying is not acceptable and expulsion is the penalty.

The parents of the expelled students came to school to ask their children to be reinstated but the principal said he is standing by his decision.

Police have launched an investigation.
