ASTCA Board appoints Fala Sualevai as CEO

The Board of Directors of the American Samoa Telecommunications Authority has appointed Ms. Fala Sualevai as Chief Executive Officer of ASTCA.

A press release from ASTCA issued Friday said  Ms. Sualevai is a seasoned telecommunications executive and has served as ASTCA’s Chief Financial Officer since she joined the authority.

She  has served as Acting CEO through several CEO transitions.

Board Chairman Iulogologo Joseph Pereira said, “We have made significant progress toward our top priorities over the last two years and the Board is confident that Fala is the right person to continue moving ASTCA in the right direction.”

He added, “Fala is a respected leader with significant experience in the telecom Industry working with technology suppliers, leading teams, operating efficiently and delivering value to all of our stakeholders. I am very pleased to announce her appointment; we are lucky to have her as our next CEO and I thank Governor Lolo M. Moliga for supporting the decision of the Board.”

Before joining ASTCA, Fala, spent nine years at Bluesky Communications in senior leadership roles including Financial Controller.

From  Ofu, Manu’a she graduated from David Starr Jordan High School and attended Pikes Peak Community College in Colorado Springs. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree with emphasis in Accounting from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.
