It’s official. All 159 travelers in quarantine at the Tradewinds hotel all tested negative for coronavirus.

This was confirmed by the Department of Health today.

Responding to the news, Governor Lemanu Peleti Mauga was elated.

“Although this is great news, our work is not complete.  We need to understand that although this is an indicator of our progress and monitoring, the COVID-19 Task Force is committed to their goal, to keep American Samoa COVID Free. And this will require the stringent policies of quarantine to remain until we are all clear.”

Governor Lemanu commends the COVID-19 Task Force under the leadership of Governor’s Authorized Representative Lt. Governor Talauega Eleasalo Ale.

“We should continue to remain faithful and as a community to stay prepared.”

The Governor stressed the wearing of masks, social distancing and getting vaccinated.
