The annual JROTC drill competition held at Kanana Fou gymnasium last Friday, March 19 was a culmination of months of preparation, long hours after school and weekend practices by cadets and instructors of all public high schools on Tutuila and Kanana Fou High School.

The drill competition tests a program’s ability to organize, work as a team and on overall performance as well as the personal discipline it takes for a cadet to perform at competition level against their peers from other programs in 4 different events: inspection, regulation, color guard and exhibition.

Kanana Fou High School, the only private school in American Samoa with a JROTC program, was the overall winner of this year’s competition. This is its 6th win in a row.

Tafuna, Leone, Samoana and Faga’itua also fielded teams,

Congratulations to Sgt. First Class Kodaro Ala and the Kanana Fou instructor and his cadets for an outstanding performance.
