Tafuna High School wins HOSA competition

Tafuna High School was the overall winner of the island wide Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) Competition held last Friday at the DWYA Gym in Tafuna.

Second place went to Faasao Marist and Samoana was third.

More than 100 students from 5 public high schools and 2 private high schools competed in a variety of categories aimed at promoting health occupation fields.

Organized by the Health/Science Division of Office of Curriculum & Instruction at the Department of Education, the HOSA competition was a STEAM related event for all high school students of American Samoa.

HOSA is a global student-led organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and Department of Health and Human Services and several federal and state agencies.

Its mission is to empower future health professionals to become leaders in the global health community through education, collaboration and experience.
