Big ASG celebration for Manu’a Flag Day, July 16

There’s a major celebration planned for the Manu’a Flag Day on July 16.

And Governor Lemanu Peleti Mauga has told directors they should all attend the celebration which will be held in Manu’a.

At Friday’s cabinet meeting, Chief of Staff Tuimavave Tauapa’i Laupola gave an outline of the program for Manu”a Day.

It includes a fishing tournament, farm fair, a church service, evening of entertainment, and a parade, speeches, feasting and traditional presentations.

The governor said is a good opportunity for directors who haven’t set foot on Manu’a to visit, check on employees there and also attend a church service in Manu’a.

There will be limited plane seats so most will be traveling on the Manu’atele which will have extra trips from June 28 to July 12.

The fishing tournament and farm fair are set for July 14. Then on the evening of July 15, there’ll be a combined church service, to be followed by entertainment and traditional presentations. Tuimavave said a concert is included in the entertainment but didn’t give any details.

The official Flag Day program takes place Friday, July 16 and will have feature a parade of ASG workers in Manu’a, the flag raising and speeches, luncheon and presentations.
