Samoa police seize drugs, cash and guns in raid

Samoa Police have seized methamphetamine, firearms and cash in a raid at a home in Vaitele, a village on the western outskirts of the capital Apia.

Samoa Observer reports six people were detained and more than $20,000 tala in cash was recovered late on Tuesday afternoon.

A vehicle at the raided home was also seized along with drugs paraphernalia and pistols. The operation was reportedly headed by Deputy Police Commissioner Auapa’au Logoitino Filipo.

There has been no official word from Police on the matter but unnamed officers confirmed police had acted on intelligence from members of the public.
