Children are the kings and queens this Sunday in the annual celebration of their special day, White Sunday.
Introduced by the early missionaries of the London Missionary Society, who brought Christianity to Samoa, everything about this day puts the children at the forefront.
They will wear new white clothes and will be the guests of honor at the Sunday toanai.
But they will also work hard, performing what they have learned for the past several weeks. They will sing, say prayers and perform plays with a Biblical message.
White Sunday is now celebrated not only in the two Samoas but countries where Samoans make their home.
Rev Elder Tony Hollister believes that the purpose of White Sunday which is to convey the Good News through the children is still honored, but the difference is some of the messages are not always based on the Good Book.
