ANZ Bank says tofa soifua American Samoa

The day of farewell has arrived for ANZ Bank.

A closing ceremony took place at the Fagatogo branch of ANZ Bank, this morning, to mark the closing of the bank after 21 years of service in American Samoa.

A small group of invited guests joined ANZ management and staff, including Country Manager Tasi Scanlon and Clarke Schaumann, Regional Country Head, Guam and American Samoa, at the gathering.

Mr. Schaumann said, saying farewell after serving the territory for more than two decades was difficult. He said, the bank is happy and proud to have been a part of American Samoa’s growth. He lauded the employees who have remained with ANZ .

The Tuala-uta lawmaker read a House resolution thanking ANZ for its service to American Samoa and wishing the bank well.

ANZ will close the doors of its Fagatogo and Tafuna branch after tomorrow but  it will remain for another 6 months to close out all operations.
