A teacher who has served American Samoa for 30 years has been named the 2022 Territorial Teacher of The Year.
Konelio Alofaituli, who has been teaching in Manu’a for the last ten years says he is humbled to be chosen from among top peers.
Ms. Kaylla Peolaina Turituri of Faga’itua High School was the first runner up, and the 2nd runner-up was Ms. Me Iosefo of Lupelele Elementary School.
Alofaituli, who moved to Manu’a after 20 years teaching on Tutuila.
says teaching in Manu’a has its challenges but is quite rewarding.
